Special Educational Needs
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
At Monkleigh Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child is supported to achieve their full potential in a caring, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCO) is Karen Reeves, who works closely with pupils, families, staff, and external agencies to ensure that children with additional needs receive the support they need to thrive.
The Lead Governor for SEND is Mrs Kate Slocombe, who supports and monitors the school's provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
Regular assessment and monitoring are an integral part of our educational provision. When a child is identified as experiencing difficulties in an area of learning, we work closely with parents and staff to provide appropriate support. This may include carefully planned interventions, targeted strategies, and additional resources to help the child make progress and develop confidence in their learning.
We are proud to be an inclusive school and strive to ensure that all children can access every aspect of school life. O
Through strong partnerships with families and a commitment to meeting individual needs, we aim to ensure that every child feels valued, supported, and successful.
