School Meals
The school kitchen offers a three-week rolling menu with a daily choice of a hot main course, picnic lunch, or filled jacket potato. School meals are charged at £2.65 per meal and should be ordered and paid for via Parent Pay by the Sunday for the following week (8 days in advanced).
Free school meals
All children in reception, year 1 and year 2 at state schools in England automatically get universal free school meals. However, parents and carers are encouraged to apply for free school meals when they enrol their child in school, as this can help their child’s school to attract additional ‘pupil premium‘ funding to support learning.
From year 3 onwards, children whose parents are in receipt of any of the following are entitled to free school meals:
-
Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods).
NB: From September 2026, free school meal eligibility in England will expand to include all school-aged pupils whose households receive Universal Credit, regardless of income. This expansion will add over 500,000 more children, eliminating the current £7,400 net income threshold for Universal Credit recipients. -
Income Support (IS).
-
Income-based Jobseekers Allowance (IBJSA).
-
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (IRESA).
-
The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit.
-
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.
-
Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, that does not exceed £16,190).
-
Working Tax Credit run-on (the payment you get for a further 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit).
Children who receive a qualifying benefit in their own right can also get free school meals.

Fruit and vegetables are delivered three times a week and usually served at morning break. Depending on the season, children may receive apples, bananas, pears, carrots, tomatoes, satsumas or strawberries.
Parents and carers may also send a portion of prepared fruit or vegetables from home in a clearly labelled container.
Cool Milk
Our school offers milk through Cool Milk and the Milk is free for children under 5.
Registered children receive a fresh 189ml portion of semi-skimmed milk each day at morning break, providing essential nutrients and helping them stay hydrated and focused.
