The Butterflies have had a busy and thoughtful week learning all about foodbanks. We read the story ‘It’s a No Money Day’ and had some wonderful discussions about all the creative, free things we can do on a day when we don't spend money. The children explored the different items we can donate to help others and worked together to create a fantastic poster to share in our school assembly.
In maths, we continued our learning about patterns, practicing how to copy and extend simple sequences. We have also been working hard on our fine motor skills and pencil control. To help strengthen their hands, we added clay to our 'Busy Fingers' activities this week; the children had a wonderful time rolling and pinching the clay to sculpt their own little hedgehogs!
The highlight of our week was a lovely visit to the church on Wednesday for our Harvest Festival service. The children listened beautifully and joined in with the celebrations wonderfully.

A Typical day for the Butterflies

Forest School takes place on a Wednesday. A dedicated PE lesson takes place on Thursday and Fridays. Children in Butterflies attend the Whole School Assembly on a Friday afternoon. Family Groups for all children takes place on a Friday afternoon.
