Welcome to Class 1 with Mrs O'Donoghue,Mrs Guy and Miss Turner
We’ve had a really busy morning in Class 1. The children have been learning how to edit photos on the iPads in computing and investigating the importance of hygiene in science. We used glitter as germs on our hands and then tested different ways to clean the germs off. It was the perfect activity with all the coughs and colds around at the moment! 🤧🤧
Another Friday full of fantastic science! The children have really impressed me with all their learning. They have been able to apply lots of knowledge to create their own animal today. They’ve also continued to develop their understanding of the different animal groups and shared their ideas and thinking brilliantly with each other when I asked them if all animals are carnivores.

A huge well done to everyone who had read their reading books this week and shared books together at home!
An amazing 26 of you read your reading book at least 3 times this week and 21 of you shared books at least 3 times together at home!
Amazing reading Class 1, keep it up! 📚⭐️

We’ve had a really busy morning learning all about different animal groups. The children have sorted the different characteristics for each group, talked about which animals fit into the groups and compared different birds and mammals. We discovered that although all birds have wings they can’t all fly!
We have also been practising how to take a good photograph using the iPad as part of our computing. We have talked about where to place the camera, the background and how close to get the camera.
