March 2025
In Science, we've been learning all about food chains. The children were about to make links to their English work about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores and used some great thinking skills to explain their learning.

Class 1 had a fantastic time at GTS for the dance festival this morning. The children were able to share some of their dance moves and add them to the routine they had been taught.

Year 2s have been busy exploring things that are longer/taller than one metre

In History this afternoon we have been exploring photos from the past - noticing and asking questions about them. We don't know who this person is yet and can't wait to find out next week all about her

We have been looking at the designer Orla Kiely today and exploring printing. We have looked at repeat, full drop and half drop and have explored this with fingerprinting. We have also coloured Orla Kiely prints.
The year 2s have been busy learning money this term. They have worked really hard to try and remember the values of each coin and notes. Today they went 'shopping' - buying items from the 'shops' with the correct amounts.

It was amazing to meet Sean Taylor today, a children's author, from Appledore book festival. We had lots of fun writing our own poetry and we are all very lucky to bring home a signed copy of his book!
We've been busy learning how to draw self portraits this afternoon and where all the features of our faces are! We've really tried to draw what we see, not what we think we see!
