The pupil premium is money given extra to the budget to ensure that children from disadvantaged backgrounds (free school meals and children in care) do not miss out and can achieve like everyone else.

To qualify for Free School Meals and Pupil Premium for your children you must be in receipt of one of the following benefits:
Income Support.
Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance.
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance.
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.
The guaranteed element of Pension Credit.
